267hp/L sounds pretty impressive, no massive details on the engine but can only presume it must be running high amounts of boost. Though if those pictures are of a real working engine it's unclear.

I don't think we should belittle it just on the specific output (it's just something easily measured in the brain of a PHer), it produces probably 4 times the torque of a MotoGP engine with peak power at half the revs.

1.5l racing engine... Approaching 1000bhp/litre in qualifying trim a quarter of a century ago in F1 and over 600/litre in race trim.
The most impressive thing about the Nissan unit isn't so much its specific output, it is the ludicrously compact packaging and potential for getting that power from a bare minimum of fuel.
