Hi everyone, just read on the Classic Touring Car Club that they are no longer running their Classic Thunder/ Classic Modified Saloon championship.
Now thats a pain ! Can anyone suggest where I can race my modified XJS V12, runnning on slicks. There must be a series out there for it !!

Nope. I am talking about the Ace Vehicle Deliveries with Hillside of Heywood Sports and Saloon Car Championship, it's a great series with some real characters. http://www.barc.net/regional_centres/north_west/in...

How about trying the Classic Sports Car Club's "Future Classics" series. 40 min races for 1 or 2 drivers with a compulsory pit stop. Good fun, a good club and good value racing. There are already a few Jags that race in these races as there are often JEC or similar Jag races on the same bill.
I would definitely take a look at both the JEC Powered by Jaguar Championship & the CSCC Future Classic (if it's eligible for this one).
Terry Dye at JEC & Richard Culverhouse at CSCC will be more than happy to accommodate you. It wouldn’t surprise me if CSCC created an Invitation class just to slot you in if the car didn't conform the regs. written!
I’ve worked a lot with both clubs/championships in recent years, a very friendly bunch who race for the right reason at club level & offer good value for money.
You should find contact details for both on 'tinternet'
The only others to consider have already been mentioned such as the BARC NW Sports & Saloons, LMA Eurosaloons etc.
I can't remember where your based Melvin, in the south I think, but if your based in the north of England then you've also got DDMC Sports & Saloons mainly based at Croft. If it's the South then contact Rod Birley BARC SE to see what their Sports/Saloon championship is doing in 2008. If you fancy Wales then the Welsh Sports/Saloon championship is a possiblity www.wrda.co.uk I think is the site, Alan Jenkins should be able to help.

i spoke to the classic sports car club at race retro reference the tin tops series and the organisers were really nice and i think they would try to accommodate anything they could. the club had a real good feel to it and i am definately considering the tin tops series for the 205 when i get some time and money... they will be at the autosport show in jan so it might be worth going up and having a chat. the 2008 provisional calender looks interesting.

PabloNote that the CSCC's "Tin Tops" series is different to their "Future Classics" series. The latter is relatively new and is designedfor cars just like the XJS, TR7, MGs, Porsche 944 etc etc etc.
Hi Greg, After reading Hot News 119, and seeing they had no rounds planned for the CMS, and just had a question mark after it, i (perhaps wwrongly ) pressumed that they were not running the series. To quote from Hot news....

I agree that Hot News doesn't sound good but I believe all is well. If you have a look at CTCRC website and go to the forums you will see better news but if it's still not clear let me know and I'll get one of the committee members to drop you a line.Classic Modified Saloon Car Championship ?
