Drivers Seat Adjustment
Discussion
Does anyone know if the drivers seat is permitted to be mounted on an adjustable runner under the blue book rules ?
My Sparco seat has the side impact loops around the ears which I'd like to keep but being only 5ft 7", if I bolt the seat in the position I like, its almost impossible to get into the car.
Thanks
Richard

Solutions:
1) Fit a removeable steering wheel, or
2) Climb in and exit the car over the top of the cage, or
3) Fit properly secured seat runners. Some of the endurance Porsches are fitted with them to cope with different height drivers. Make sure they are decent, purpose designed things and be aware that the seat is likely to be mounted a fair bit higher
That's Jan's old car, isn't it? It was always a nightmare to get past the ears on that seat!

Thanks guys.
I couldn't possibly wear high heels... only use them on "special occasions"
I thought of moving the pedals forward but they're right up against a step so I can't really come any closer I don't think... but its worth a second look.
Is climbing in and more importantly exiting out the top of the cage allowed by the scruts ?
It is indeed Jan/Rod's old car both of whom are significantly taller than me. It already has a removable steering wheel and is still anightmare with that off.
I suppose I could get a different seat with smaller ears. I'd like to fit a passenger seat anyway so it wouldn't be wasted.
Cheers guys.

I always get out of the car that way, and if I get in wearing a helmet (especially with HANS device fitted), I go in through the top too.
More important is can you get out of the car in an emergency, upside down for example? If not you need to move things about or change your seat.
Colin will get you sorted
