Pro photography in 08?

I met up with Gary (focused) at Autosport on Friday and chatted about the 2008 season and the increasing grid numbers / TVR models competing. I was disappointed to here that Gary is considering not covering the TVR series in 08.
There appear to be many reasons for this but are mainly due to the huge time commitment required to produce professional images of the cars plus the costs involved in travelling to and from the circuits. Garys day job is a Pro studio photographer but his passion for TVRs has led him into motorsport and we have all seen the quality of his work in 07.
I think the whole series and the drivers especially benefit from having a pro like Gary onboard, producing high quality images of the cars for both our own use and for publication in Sprint. Not wishing to lose his services I’ve come up with an idea as follows.
Basically drivers have an opportunity to contribute a modest sum towards a retainer for a race weekend so that he can continue to supply us with images. I’ve asked Gary to concentrate his efforts on those drivers that contribute to the retainer but also produce images for Sprint. Each driver would receive sample images the week after the race and could choose a number of hi-res images from those provided for their own use.
At the end of the day it depends on how much you value professional material and how you use it. I try to keep my website gallery (www.tvr-racing.co.uk) as up to date as possible for both existing and potential sponsors and I supplied them all with either a calendar or a large format action shot this season. To make this viable we’ll need something like a minimum of 10 drivers to sign up. I’ll get the ball rolling with my name on the list below, please add yours if you wish
