No you can't use TVR spiders on a Tuscan - the PCD is different.
All TVRs since and including the Cerb use the same upright and hub, and the 5 stud pattern is different to the Ford Granada pattern used by the Tuscan racers.
The Spiders on Tweety's old yellow car must have been one off's

There is a difference between will fit and will fit properly... IIRC you can get the spiders etc to fit on the 5 stud wedge and tuscan challenge hubs, but they dont fit properly as the pcd is a mm or so different., so the bolts are under stress and the nuts dont seat properly..
So the short answer is NO..

Aren't mag wheels lifed? Probably only worth getting mags if you need to get the car absolutely as light as possible. A lot of the cars wear the compos cos they are incredibly tough and should last.
As for spiders I wouldn't put them anywhere near a race car even if they did fit. I've got 2 bent ones on the front of my cerbera road car which will be sold as scrap metal when I have the SP12s fitted in a few weeks time.

The wheel of choice for a Tuscan is the Dymag. When you pick up a Dymag and then a Compomotive you see why. Unsprung weight is the worst possible weight, so this isn't about chasing down that last bit of weight saving.
The reason that people are using Compomotives is 1) you can't get Dymags in a TVR fitment any more - they have been as rare as rocking horse sh1t since 2003 and 2) they are cheap. They are cheap because they are heavy.
I use the Compomotives myself on the Sagaris (for Ceejay's benefit 'the b@stard hybrid') in a 10" width and they are a decent wheel (but heavy). Given a choice between a set of (straight) second hand Dymags and new Compomotives at the same price I'd go for the Dymag every time. And I don't say that because I have some for sale because they would otherwise be used for wets on the Sagaris.

I fully understand the principles of unsprung mass on a race car. Also as a metallurgist I know about fatigue properties and corrosion of magnesium (my sepciality is casting). A new mag wheel would be a good investment if weight saving and budget are no problem, an old used mag would really need to be checked out very carefully. All IMHO. The compos are heavy, everybody knows that. My 15'' MO Taz wheels weighed a tonne but I never broke or bent one.
If you're on a budget the compos are great, you could try to find a lighter heat treated cast aluminium wheel, bound to be some decent aftermarket wheels that will fit.

Confused, are your wets Dymags or Compo?Edited by teamHOLDENracing on Wednesday 6th February 20:49

It is a difficult one, new heavier compos or older lighter dymags or even tsw's
The dymags are the lightest and the most fragile, the tsw's heavier and a little stronger. New compos the heaviest and the strongest.
I was quite surprised how easy it was to break one of the tsw's, I just caught the edge of the kerb at croft and had a rear split right round the middle
With the compos you could probably drive through a wall and they would be the only usable bit of the car left...
if your not too worried about the extra weight yet the compos are probably the simplest safest option, and surprisingly possibly the cheapest.
You also have the option with the compos of going to 10 inch rears on the tuscan.
The dymags are the coolest though...:-)

For 2007 I used 10" Compomotive rims for slicks on the Sagaris and a 'borrowed' set of Tuscan 9" Dymags for wets. The wets go with the Tuscan I am selling, but I have two further sets of 9" Dymag rims to use on the Sag in 2008. I will have to buy a new set of wets for 2008 anyway so I would consider selling the 9" Dymags and going 10" across the board.
I wouldn't sell the Dymags for less than £150 a rim - they are still the best 9" wheel and I won't get a big advantage from 10" wets. So I'm not too fussed either way.

Are they 17" and would they fit a wedge. as it may work out cheeper on tyres if I've got 17" wheels.I wouldn't sell the Dymags for less than £150 a rim - they are still the best 9" wheel and I won't get a big advantage from 10" wets. So I'm not too fussed either way.

Bugger, I really don't fancy shelling out £1.5K at this stage for tyres and wheels...
Andy, you don't have a set of rims you could flog me do you?
Have been through my wheels this weekend and yes I do - 4 identical Dymags, all in good condition and fitted with slicks which would be fine for testing/ learning the car.Andy, you don't have a set of rims you could flog me do you?
Regards
Andy

nope and nope.... 18*9 and huge... you can physically bolt the bare rims on, but there is no room for tyres and you cant turn the fronts more than a couple of degrees
You killjoy G. It would have been fun to watch. By the way, have you got any serciceable DO1s kicking about. I need 1 for a testing set and another for a spare. Money may chage hands! Ah! All
now eh?Au revoir G T.

What size are you after? I have a set of 18's, they are fairly hard now, but have tread.
