i've been there, nice little track, although it was a bit hard to find the fisrt time i went.
depending on the club, you'll either do a single lap, or a double lap.

Watching or driving?

Its good to watch, a very cheap day out, and can be quite entertaining. You nebver really know whats going to turn up. I've not driven it, but its a short course and quite tricky to master I believe. Very twisty, and not very smooth.

The Aston club do two events there a year, and its surprising how nimble they actually are.

It's good fun and technically demanding to drive, but very short.

I competed via the Nottingham Sports Car Club.

If you have limited funds then Sprinting is an OK way of getting into Motorsport, but if you can afford a second car, then forget sprints, & buy a kart & go kart racing as it is much better value for money.

how expensive is it? and what type of cars normally turn up?

virtually all curboro sprints are free for spectators. as for cars, depends on the organising club or championship, but everything from VSCC 1930 something flying bedsteads to latest Gould single seaters. check their site (curborough) for events list and that will give the organising club and a website or contact to check on range of cars

If you're spectating, the best places for viewing are opposite the molehill for the short circuit, and by the tower on the long circuit. Do take a look at the hairpin from the far end, too.

definitely. soem of the 'marque' classes are pretty good, westfield/caterham/coffin dodgems, Triumphs, Aston, porsches, Fancy Fiats (ferraris), even the odd skyline for good measure. a couple of years ago a guy rocked up in a white 600+bhp skyline which was pretty good (for a big 4wd car) until it rained oddly enough, where it span all 4 wheels for what seemed like an eternity before it left the line lol. summat for everyones taste in cars over a season...

like most venues, its under constant threat, and has been as long as ive been competing there as far as i know (7yrs ish). developers pay more than us car nuts i guess...
