F1 and the Hobbit

I got the Daily Mail yesterday, do not worry, I only get the paper once a week, and I found a funny story on Bernie and his little empire. Good read.
"Why I detest democracy, why I gave Labour £1m -
and what my wife said when I asked for a mistress, by Bernie Ecclestone"

Faced with "Bee Movie" on the 'plane back from Athens yesterday, I elected to scan the Daily Mail on the seat next to me. The Bernie article made me laugh. The journo wasn't your typical F1 journo with something to lose - she went for his jugular. She exposed his answers for the guff they usually are and for once showed how his general approach using the "thinking on your feet" model doesn't stand up to close scrutiny. In particular his responses on the Labour Party donations were fatuous. In all then a very amusing article, even if it didn't teach us anything new about BCE.
Seemed like a total shambles of an interview, and a waste of a rare opportunity. Perhaps BE wasn't in the mood to be properly interviewed, but with such luminary journalistic probing as "Do short men have larger brains?" - can you blame him?
It was a childish piss-take that reminded me as to why I don't read the Mail.

I don't think i've ever really read a good interview with him, mainly because all journalists ask him such daft questions. If they could find one with a mind somewhere near to matching Bernie's, it'd be a great read.It was a childish piss-take that reminded me as to why I don't read the Mail.

Given who the author is, i'd be very surprised if the article hasn't appeared elsewhere first. It was a childish piss-take that reminded me as to why I don't read the Mail.

But she did pretty much kick him in the nuts about the Labour donation...
But who cares? In the context of what's happened since in terms of both the Labour party and F1 - honestly, it pales into insignificance.
ks). How many postings have we seen on here recently about some of his inane decisions (eg night race in Singapore) Forums | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
