Castle Combe 2008?
Discussion
Just had a look at the Britcar website and can't see Castle Combe listed
I watched it last year and thought it was very good, I was hoping to catch it again this year. Is there any chance it will be added in or is it off the calendar for good?
Cheers

Doubt it, why not drop an e-mail to the councilors (their names are listed somewhere) who voted to reduce the noise limit at Castle Combe and prevent British GTs going there. There was one guy on the council who was staunchly opposed to the crazy limit reduction that saved the residents from a whole 8 hours of noise per year. The local economy has certainly been denied a good income from the hotels, petrol stations, restaurants etc that the GT circus pumped money in to.
Unfortunately the selfish actions of a few cretins has left CC unable to host most exciting race categories because they have such draconian limits.

We have used combe for corporate track days in the past. We don't bother anymore after the council nailed the coffin lid down on the place.
It's a crying shame because every time I've raced there it was in front of a good sized crowd who knew their stuff. The best in the uk.
We probably spend £1,000 or so in the local community every time we go racing, do the maths. Then add the crowd's spend.
Nice move councilors!
Hopefully they'll knock the place down and put some houses, a b&q, and a maccy dee drive through on the site. Then they'll be f@cked.
A lovely circuit, lovely surroundings, wonderful crowd, family atmosphere, weak council and a couple of
local tosser residents who have managed to kill all that off.
They should be proud of themselves .

You're so right Don. I live 10 miles from CC and find this all very frustrating. I find it hard to understand how newcomers to an area like CC can dictate about the running of the circuit. Quite simply, if they don't want the noise etc of motor racing then they shouldn't buy property next to a motor racing circuit.
