Malaysian GP

By sheer coincidence (that's what I've told the missus anyway :-) ) we're going to be on holiday in Malaysia whilst the GP is on. Has anyone been to Sepang and if so recommend which stands offer a good view of the action?

Been once before for F1 in stand F in the linked circuit map. Get to see the bikes / cars twice a lap, and a good view of the bikes / cars getting out of shape into the braking area for the final hairpin, and any potential highsides on the way out. Can't comment on other areas of the track.

My mum sat in K1. Said she could see them come down the start straight, around the first bends and then half way up the curved straight.

Make sure you take water and sun cream, its hot. Very hot, it was 60 when she was there last year

I went in 2006 and was facing turns 9 & 10 so could pretty much see the entire back section of the circuit. I don't think there is anywhere bad to be there.

I attended the first Grand Prix there and sat in the Grandstand on the main straight at the Turn 1 end, had a good view, but it was bloody hot. Not only that but towards the end of the race the sun had moved sufficiently for me to be in the sun. Fortunately I had sun cream but even though we were only in the sun for around an hours others around me burnt nicely, including locals!

So I would try and ensure you are in stand which provides shade!

However it is a really good experience and worth going to. The market in Chinatown, KL does a good line in "genuinue" F1 merchandise, at very cheap prices!

Was there in 2001 - as Logie said take sun cream etc also water (not beer!) it is absolutly hot as a 8a5tard- two hours in the sun = 24 hours in hospital if not carefull.

60? Depending on which scale you're using that either makes it the hottest place ever recorded on Earth, or like a mild English summer day.
