Myself and a few friends want to watch a round of the WRC on the continent this year, so we have chosen Germany.

Has anyone ever been to the event or even just visited Trier that could just give me a few pointers on where to stop etc? I'm not too good with German!

Thanks

Been twice now, once I organised it independantly and camped - cheap!!
last year I went with rallytravel and stayed in the Primavera in Trier - cracking hotel, but costly.

It takes about 5hrs to drive to Trier, the route is dead simple.

It helps to speak a little German, but most people you'll meet speak enough English to get buy.
Trier is a lovely little city, many good restaraunts and bars (there's even a McDonalds if you were desperate)

Germany is probably the best organised of the European events, all stages are clearly signposted from the main roads and at every junction to the carparks.

Most stages are easily accessible, you should be able to see 3 a day as long as you don't mind early starts and late finishes.

I don't know how much the rally pass will cost this year, probably about 60E stage parking will be 1E a stage.

If the timetable runs the same this year as last, you'll have to choose between the superspecial and Dhrontal - choose Dhrontal!

I have all the programs and guides at home so can give you any information you want.
