The last time I saw some live circuit racings, was here...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=RCnR3MjZT28

Tooo long ago.

Now, its March, start of the season. I've only ever been to Croft in the UK, this year I want to make a determined effort to go to more races and enjoy the sights and sounds. I'm based in Yorkshire, so I guess I can also get to Donnington, Oulton Park, Cadwell, etc quite easily - any others?

What should I be pencilling in my diary? I dont even know what the current formats are for GT's, F3's etc. Last time I saw them was when it was part of that 'supertour' thing.
And tintops, BTCC, what else?

What are the must-do's? And no, I'm not paying hundreds of pounds to watch the Bernie show at Silverstone!

I need a race car fix!

Elise Trophy - great racing, fantastic atmosphere - you'll get at least 100 Lotus owners along to each meet and it races around the country (plus Spa). The support races are usually pretty good too.

Club racing doesn't come much better than this

The VSR V8 Tropy will be at Cadwell on the 12th April, should be fun seeing the former ascars flying over the mountain.

a hillclimb at Harewood - just down the road from Harewood House.

get up close with the cars all the way round the track - standing behind a 400bhp Mitzy Evo while its stands on the start line on the launch control/anti lag is an experiance..
or the 650bhp Single Seaters as they launch.

Already on the cards - been going to Hill climbs at Harewood for years, I think it was probably my first motorsport experience!

As Kevin said, worth checking out the Elise Trophy. Obviously I'm biased wink but we did have some cracking racing last year and we do get big (normally full) grids.
With over 95 drivers signed up, this year should be even better.
We've a few rounds in this year's calendar that are easy for you to get to, e.g. Donington Park, Oulton Park, Cadwell Park & Croft:

Cheers,
Andrew.

as its your local.... Croft26th and 27th April

British F3 average racing quality but very fast high tech cars and a few quality drivers always worth a watch. On the same bill and always guaranteed to entertain like the Caterham Roadsports with over 80 of arguably the closest matched cars in the UK racing in 5 seperate races. Guaranteed offs in both if that floats your boat close racing if not.

Oulton Park gold cup in August. Amazing day. Last year there was a demo from the bentley speed 8 and Group B rally cars cloud9. THere is also loads of classic car races.

Don't forget about the historic meet at Silverstone - fantastic cars, real sideways racing and you can wander about the pits to your hearts content. And the smell of old racing cars is just cloud9

I think that clashes with the Britcar at Silverstone so I'll be up there.

Nope, will be there for A1GP though. Great meeting at a very reasonable price. Unmissable in my opinion!

Oulton Park opener: BRITISH GT & F3 (plus others such as VW Cup)

Brilliant action on a brilliant track.
