AJP Fuel Consumption

Hi All...

Can anyone give me any idea of how much fuel I should be expecting to use in my AJP engined Tuscan round a track, for example Brands???

My Cerb with a standard 4.5 was doing 1.25 a minute around Brands, ona nad off a lot with heavy braking and acceleration.

Consumed less at Snetterton for example, not much less!

1.25 ltr per min = 16.5 gal per hour seems a little low... for a race (30 mins) is that 38 ltrs? anyone??? 10 gals. need bigger tank!

Certainly with our AJP8 race engines we were getting a litre a minute (perhaps a little more but not as much as 1.25lt/min).

And yes, for 30 min races most full blown race Tuscans will run out of fuel and hence a lot of them have increased the size of their fuel cell and that's also why most races in the Tuscan Challenge are 20 mins max! Cheers,

From memory the standard Tuscan tank holds about 35 litres, but the last 5 litres or so are useless. Or put another way, the first 5 litres that go in the tank just bring the level up to the fuel pick up pipe.

I have a schedule somewhere at home with fuel consumption for different circuits - if I can find it I'll post them up.

i was useing 1.3l per min

That was 1 litre a minute to the engine plus 0.3 litres a minute out of the hole in his fuel tank....

Seeing as injection has a return to the tank/swirl pot how do you mesure how much you are using.

good old fashioned. meausure how much you put in and how much is left / does it take to top up..
