what motor & power are you running in it. We had all sorts of issues with the jag powerlocker really upsets the handling, and you much better of with an open diff ( we ran an open diff when we won the class in 04).
You either want a powerlocker modified to work with the car or find a quaife unit for it.. My taz now runs a qauife, and it works really well, but not cheap....
You can eliminate some of the problem by set up on the rear suspension.. Adding an anti roll bar works well.

Many thanks, running 2.8 engine & looks like may have to stick with the diff for now.Who would i need to talk to regarding quaife diff. Also some problems with the brake pedal working far too late to use the throttle at the same time.Apart from that the handlings pretty good, could do with a 5 speed box,but only picked the car up last saturday. Had one run out at mallory & one at Snetterton so far so its all a bit new to me & running out of time fast. Maybe you could e-mail me your phone number for a chat - would realy appreciate any help you could give me before my first race!
YHM.
if you think you need a 5spd box, you must be running a very low diff ratio do you know what it is.
we ran a 5 speed and to be honest never used 5th much.. the stock 5 speed ( type 9 ) ratios are crap for racing as well. 1st too low and gap to second too big... there is a mod to put a longer first in which John Sumner used to great effect.
for the quaife diff, quaife are a good place to start
pricey mind... I got mine 2nd hand from another Race tasmin than is sadly no more... Its parts live on in a couple of other racers though
cheers

As Graham says you can remove most of the wheel spin in tight bends with rear end setup. You either want a powerlocker modified to work with the car or find a quaife unit for it.. My taz now runs a qauife, and it works really well, but not cheap....

The Taz I ran in 2004/5 had quite a soft rear. 250 lb springs with AVO single adjustables and 4 clicks back from max of 12 clicks on a dry track. Wet setup was same springs but 6 clicks back. These settings virtually wiped out inside wheel spin unless you really needed it.
I was also running a 5 speed Type 9 with a 4.1 non lsd. 1st was very low but rocket ship starts, but it meant that all 5 speeds were used. This setup got me round Croft in an unofficial 1m 42.2 in testing, which I think would have been a lap record if done in the race. Mallory best was 55.4 if I remember correctly. At the latter I could pull out about 8 car lengths on a turbo car after the hairpin, which was just enough to hold them off to Gerrards. It was also very forgiving. If the back stepped out you just gave it a load of opposite lock and nailed the throttle. The back would obligingly step back in, in a nice gentle non dramatic style.
The engine was a very driveable 150bhp at the wheels 2.8 V6 so not the most powerful in class. I had class wins in all but my first ever race in 2004, 7 in total, and had class wins in all the races in 2005 except for my bogey track, Pembury, 11 in total, the car taking class and overall TVRCC honours in 2005.
The point I am making is that setup is everything and it was possible then to beat turbo cars with the right setup, depending on track characteristics.
The rear suspension was the original type with the trailing arm picking up just by the transmission tunnel and a single adjustable bottom arm to adjust camber. I found this setup easier and in some ways preferable to the A frame type on my present car.
Hope this helps. Contact me if you need any more info.

Many thanks, just got back from mallory & we set the rear 4 clicks from top which helped set a quicker lap time but out of the hairpin a nightmare, everything pulls away while i grapple for second to get traction. Also i had more confidence with the harder set up for gerrards,so round quicker but exactly as you describe rear stepped out which lost forward motion, however still took 1 second off lap time down to 56.4 on old track rubber. Will try slicks next week weather permitting.Just checked the lap timmer best lap was 56.04 not 56.4!
