As a Ferrari F1 fan of 20 years I thought Felipe Massa's job of putting his car into the wall without help from anyone should leave him hanging his head in shame!

To be fair, what with the no traction control rules, Massa just pushed it a little too much on the first corner and lost it ... Considering the track temperature was 57C and relatively grippy, a lot of the drivers were struggling and at points using a little bit of opposite lock! ;p Far more exciting!

It reminds me of his early days when he always looked like an accident waiting to happen. It might be that he will struggle without traction control.

It was definately the old Massa that turned up to the first race, but unfortunately Kimi wasn't much better!

Ferrari overall were appalling , they HAVE to improve for the next race.

I think from memory, if you look at his car he goes very high over the rumble strip on the off side as it lands the car seems to just slide to thr right, I think he was unlucky

It looks like the lack of traction control is really going to show who is a good F1 driver and who is an amazing F1 driver. Don't get me wrong, i know all of them can drive far better than myself, but it really is going to sort the boys from the men. Also it looks like it is going to make F1 a better spectator sport.

Off topic I know, but did anybody else think that Coulthard's car fell to bits just a bit too easily?

I agree - seemed like their glue was still wet.

Poor Coulthard, did well in practice and as always has a Ferrari take him out from behind (remember Shuey at Spa losing a wheel hitting Coulthard in the rain? and the pit scurmish afterwards)
