They don't need a loop hole. If they wanted a second team they could buy any other team that is for sale. I don't think it would be beneficial to them to have another team though.

UNLESS The Pile of bits that is purchased includes facilties and the talent to build there own cars the Team is worthless, worthless than Minardi ever were.

The smartest buy had to be FIFI - they retained the facilities, a half decent windtunnel and a bunch of enthusiastic people....

How would that help they were gearing up to be a B McLaren team running ex-Mc chassis. The RULES HAVE BEEN CLARIFIED - YOU MUST MAKE YOUR OWN CHASSIS. Frank and the Ex-Jordan Team have one this battle.

I'm pretty sure that Prodrive could construct their own chassis. They'll need tons of sponsorship to get the money, but it could be done. Their performance would probably end up being completely crap, but Minardi never shone anyway, and neither did STR.

I had heard somewhere that afyter being bought out by Red Bull that their manufacturing facilities were wiped away as they were going to be usuing RBR equipment, and back then customer cars were looking likely.

Yes, that's what I was hinting at. At the very best, RBR simply wouldn't have updated the equipment...at worst,they'd have sold it off.

I can't see why Prodrive would bother to buy a team that offers nothing other than a name...After all, Prodrive already had (have?) a place on the grid....Even if Faenza was state-of-the-art, it's probably beyond the range of DR's Ecureuil (or whatever he replaced it with)...
