My life Insurance company are not being very generous on their quotes to cover me for motor sports.
any recomendations of comapanies that you guys use? I dont plan on killing myself ( or anyone else for that matter! ) but this whole Heather Mills thing got Mrs Obiwonkeyblokey thinking.
Thanks

Surely up until 11th April, you've never even contemplated motor racing.. My life insurance didnt care what I started doing after i'd taken out the policy just what i was doing before i took it out

p.s. does that mean your worth 400mill
. . . Graham have you let them know then? . . . if not I suggest you do as it's a significant and material change in risk . . . the last thing you'd want is hassle for you/your family if settlement was required (perish the thought!) G

Sorry to bounce this, but with the first race only 2 days away Ive been quoted 2k for life and accident cover for this year - seems steep, maybe they have seen me drive?
anyway - does anyone else have racing specific personal insurance? and if so what are you paying?
thanks
O
do you really need it. 2K sounds a lot. cos if you do die you not going to care are you

£2k does sound a lot (although I guess it depends how much cover you are buying). Recent events suggest that flying in a private aircraft carries a greater risk than racing, but that doesn't help you if the underwriters don't see it that way. Deaths are so rare in motorsport these days.
Try looking on the Motor Sports Association website, or contacting specialist insurers such as Egger Lawson, TBH Clowes etc - there will be other names in the back of Autosport.
In the meantime I think I will check the exclusions of my life policy!
