The BBC would be completely mad to give Allen a contract; it would be a total waste of the licence fee!

Just what will he do in 2009?

He could always ask Max for a job: perhaps now is the time for the EURONCAP tests to utilise humans rather than dummies.

Shouldn't be difficult to lure him - I can picture the advert:

"keystone role, company car, chance to drive the latest models, certainly not a desk based job"....

Hopefully he'll be flipping burgers and saying "Do you want fries with that?"

He's ex-Autosport, continues to write for part of his living..... I wonder if there are going to be any Haymarket vacancies in 2009?

I think James Allen will get back into journalism, selling the Big Issue outside Euston Station.

Pic for humour only.

Rumours are that James Allen's skills at talking utter bks are now so well proven that Gordon Brown is considering giving a job as a spokesman.

Thank the BBC for finally 'stopping the cock' biggrin

I suspect he'll sit at home giving young Enzo a running commentary but stopping every 15 minutes to describe Honda's latest wacky advert.

I wouldn't guarantee it, like others have said - they will want to keep a much of the existing team as possible for a smooth transition from ITV to BBC.

We can always hope though, think of the extra time we have to put up with him for without the adverts.

Martin Brudle aside, the whole ITV team are rubbish.
Ted Kravitts or what ever he's called is embarrassing.

His insights are terrible.
At the Monaco GP "This just in, we're in Monte Carlo this weekend" LEGEND.

James Allen is incredibly annoying and a complete jobsworth, let's hope he dissapears. Martin Brundle is a great commentator and is very knowledgable indeed, he should definetely be retained, perhaps mark blundell also...

A commentator job in China would make everyone happy. British viewers could get rid of hiM. Chinese viewers could get rid of the current two presenters who know nothing about driving a car, let alone a F1. And Allen could provide some better service to Chinese viewers than his Chinese counterparts before he is dumped by Chinese.
