Thought I'd have a look at this as seem pretty focuses (and goof for Historic Research).

But by Christ, you cannot even have a strong opinion or Swear with ^&%£$£$ in even a light hearted manor without some Creting Moderator or "Clerk of the Course" ( tts - probably never raced a car in their lives!) sending you email about your SHOCKING BEHAVIOR!

Like Patrick Head said - Reverse Grids are the way to go.

As long as the best cars are always at the front, they will just P*ss off and there will be limited overtaking.

No its not, its just that some of the things you get here wouldn't be tolerated there.

Plus on Ten-tenths people are far better informed than they are in the General Motorsport section here, on Ten-Tenths people tend to have better idea of whats going on.

I fail to see your point. They don't like swearing - you did and you got warned.

Pistonheads should take note as there is far too much here and at times it reaches ridiculous proportions (even if spelling changed). Isn't swearing a reflection of someone who can't express themselves properly (or something like that)?

"far better informed" - In General you are possibly right, but as Rev sez they are Right Up themselves and not many Racers - Just Real Anorak type (which is fine), but what is not fine is not being able to have strong opinion on ANYTHING!.

You constantly get Messages saying the Clerk of the Course want to talk to you! - Jesus - make you feel about 12.

You Can't have a URL as your Signature either!! i.e. Pistonheads Profile URL (so they can see where you are coming from rather than the limited stuff allowed on there profile (these loosers would fit right in with Red Ken!).

Some of the moderators like 'Bella' on Ten Tenths know nothing about Motor sport. However forums can be damaging.

To be fair to 10/10, they were not objecting to strong opinion just with breaking the rules. Your method of getting around the filter shows a knowledge of the limits so you have no real defence. Further, I can't see any reference to 'shocking behaviour' by the moderator and, in fact, the admonishment was quite polite and well structured.

I can't see the problem. If you disagree with the rules, do not use the forum. Seems simple enough to me.

Well said. 10/10ths also im sure, has a number of younger posters. Therefore its not acceptable to have swear words all over the place.

He can refrain from using the forum, although he is still entitled to comment about it.

Motor racing is not the most well-mannered and delicate of human endeavours. The number of its participants who do not use "foul" language must be miniscule. Although ten-tenths are within their rights to impose whatever rules they wish, it does seem both incongruous and petty for them for censor and penalise the simple verbatim quoting of rather innocuous language by one of British motorsport's leading men.

If Britain were otherwise clean as a whistle, William, then I would agree. When I look around and see public phone boxes covered with adverts for prostitutes, see dinner-hour soaps rife with story lines about drugs, adultery, thieving and murder, and then wait until 9:01 pm when BBC1 and 2 programmes frequently manifest literally no limit at all on the language used, it's hard for me to get exercised about someone's quoting the word "piss", or "pi55", or whatever version we're allowed to use here.

I'd say piss and st used in the correct context on an internet forum are ok. (For st that would be. "Oh st I've broken my car" )

But if you allow any swearing where do you draw the line.
