The problem with bedding in race pads on track is they usually need sufficient time to cool to properly finish the process (as in at least 12 hours)

Hi Andy,
do you race at Lydden in the SEMSEC races? If so, you could enter the sprint in the morning and get three or four runs with the track all to yourself.

I tend to try and alternate swapping disks and pads so i never have new pads and disks together, they seem to bed in quicker that way. With new pads I follow the manufacturers intructions but usually a couple of low speed stops follwed by increasing the speed usually does the trick for mine.

Without locking the wheels, 30 to zero 3 times, 50 to zero 3 times then 70 to zero 3 times, then allow to cool...
Some manufacturers give a guide to follow with the pads, I know Mintex used to. Ive used ferrodo and Padgid almost streight out of the box. What pads you running??

Use pads that dont need bedding much, a couple of laps will do it with PF and Pagid.
Disk bedding is mainly about building the bulk temperature slowly, without shocking the disk so it cracks, distorts, then letting it cool. You can do this in a qualy session if you build the temps up over a few laps, then do a few laps without touching the brakes so they cool right down, then go for a time. If you manage your session properly it's doable during qualy, but you'll have to set your fast time at the end of the session.
