Do you mean during the race itself?
Can I ask if you're actually going to be working and have a legitimate reason for being there? If not, I'd suggest not bothering and staying out of what is probably the busiest and most dangerous pit-lane in motorsport (the FIA GT one, I mean).
After having to literally drag mindless and w
rs out of the way of incoming cars as they've come in hot to refuel before, I'd happily shoot everyone who has no legitimate reason for being there. There's a reason it's meant to be confined to team personnel only during races.

V.I.P pass's which include access to the pitlane,, hmm bussiest pitlane in motorsport,, why's this. Thats a bit harsh. 
I work in the pits and garages on the racecars, and one of the nice things about being there is showing enthusiastic fans the cars, as long as it's all properly controlled and apropriate time wise it's a good thing. The pitlane marshalls are usually well on top of things at the events i do and keep spectators out of the active zones during a race.
VIP's etc dont get access to the pitlane during an active race, you have to carry team crew wristbands which the marshalls and team personel can check.

Ouch!You should be able to get to the back of the pits but please, please keep clear of any doors or access points to the garages. Everyone appreciates the enthusiasm of the fans (we're all fans too), but when you're constantly shoveling people out of the way so you can get in or out of the garage it becomes a bit of a pain!
Mind you, that's child's play compared to the LMS race at Spa last year, when we all started our sighting laps before they'd finished the somewhat poorly timed pit lane walkabout. The VIPs were somewhat startled when racecars started rushing out and back in to the pits, before topping up with fuel and rushing out again before the pit lane closed. Got a bit fraught for a minute or two...
I went to the FIA GT race at Silverstone 2 years ago and the back of the pit garage was open season, everyone could walk around there amongst the trailers and everything. In between the races (UK D1 drift was also running that day) you could actually stroll down the pits "trackside" which was pretty cool.

Just that when you a couple of people walking aimlessly through your pit box when you're stood there in full flame proof kit about to refuel and do a full tyre change and they don't actually notice, it gets a bit frought. Especially when they're walking around taking pictures in shorts and a t-shirt. Strange how the teams get a fine or a rollocking if they're not suited up, but any punter can wander around in what they like.
The only thing that really bothers me is that as it's a FIA sanctioned event, it shouldn't be like that, but for some reason, the 'glamour' side seems to spread out and people get to be in places they shouldn't be at time. It's just not as closely looked at as, say, F1, which it should follow as example.
Yes, Ahonen is right, the good thing is that guests can get to stand in the garage and watch pit stops etc. It's people actually being in a pit-lane when they shouldn't be.
Maybe I wouldn't shoot them all, just fire some warning shots, perhaps.

where would these get you
They appear to be gridwalk passes. So you'll get to walk on the grid in the run up to the FIA GT race (a la Brundle at the start of the GP). That's a good thing to get close to the cars that are usually behind garage doors or barriers. Especially as they're fully leaden and ready to go by that point. One of the best parts of the day at an FIA GT meeting. [/URL]where would these get you
Not sure where they'll get you after that, probably keep you in the paddock, you'll maybe be able to get a look into the back of some of the garages, depends on how strict the teams are during the race.

God I hope not if GT's ever get as anal as F1 Im off.. I've never had much of a problem with fans getting in the way, but then im usually either in a car if im driving or huddled up in the prat perch staring at screens when my budgets low mike360 said:

After that, you'll be lead back to where you were before and be able to watch from where you want to (within reason).You'll be controlled, I wouldn't think you'll be allowed to wander in by yourself, but then, you never know.
