Maggots/Becketts/Chapel if you want to watch from the banking. Otherwise get some stand tickets around Luffield/end of the lap to see them come through the complex after Bridge.
On the practice/qualifying days make sure you go and stand/sit on the outside at Copse and see the lunatics taking it flat out!

Silverstone isn't really great for viewing from anywhere! You can generally (other than the complex which is all relatively slow speed) only see the one corner and you end up watching the race on the screens - so go for an amazing corner like Copse or Club.

3 of us are going to silverstone this year for the 3 days
our seats are at stowe b at the end of the hanger straight so should be good .does anybody know what the veiw is like from there i know it's not the best place to sit but don't mind too much am just excited to be going
also on practice days and qualifying do you have free reign of where to walk around and stand?would appreciate all your veiws and comments cheers

Not bad seats but less exciting than you'd think, unless someone puts a move on into Stowe, which is rare in F1 these days...
Also - be warned. We were at Stowe, but were directed to the car park by the pits straight. This meant a very long walk each day to our seats.
Practice day you can go where you like and sit where you like. Qualifying IIRC you can only sit in your grandstand seat if you have the relevant ticket. It's a bit less busy than race day though so I took the opportunity to sit at Copse on the concrete 'banking'
cheers for the reply the car parking won't be an issue for us as we are camping at whittlebury golf course just accross the road and walking there and we are nearer to stowe than any other grandstand so should be ok don't mind a bit of walking anyway(it's the nearest campsite to the race track by all accounts)

Just to counter another view on here. Not much happens directly in front of you (aside from the year schuey went up the inside of Irvine and straight into the tyre barrier), but you get to see the cars accelerate out of Becketts all the way down Hangar, through Stow and if you're high in the stand into Vale. You can also sort of see the tops of the cars into abbey, but you have to use your imagination a bit for that!
I like it because you do see the cars for a good long time, and there's a big screen in front of you for watching when it's not on the track in front of you.
On one of the practice days, go and stand on the banking watching he entry to Maggots before Becketts. You get a real sense of speed there.

Only gone on Saturday's recently but my favourite place to watch is at the point where the cars 1st turn into Becketts. It's difficult to get a spot for qualifying but not to bad if you get there prior to the 1st practice session.
It's probably the nearest you get to the cars on the whole circuit. The cars are carrying massive speed into the 1st apex and you get a good idea as to whose cars are working well through there.
Should be even more obvious as to whose cars are going well this year without the aid of T.C.
Normal place for qualifying is at Copse.
Again massive speed through there from the cars and it's the best place to be for the initial hoopla if a Brit manages to stick it on pole.

Be quick whatever you do, most of the tickets have been sold. I've got grand stand seats on becketts, was recommended them by my boss. There for the weekend also camping at the lakeside area of whittlebury golf club. Planning to walk the circuit on practice days and thinking about watching for the pit straights for qualifying, can't decide though. Also does anyone know of a timetable for other races going on?

If that's Club Silverstone then the view is quite good!It's worth taking a radio to listen to the commentary.
Stowe is good on practice/qualiyfing.
Not sure of the times of other events but you will get a timetable once you're there.
Whittlebury Park is ideal to walk to the cicuit (means you can
while you're there!)Spectating a Club is an event, especially on the Friday and Saturday. You get loads of blokes there who know it back to front and are not afraid to put the prentenders down. They are a friendly bunch (apart from those in red) and are not that partisan. Anyone qualifying well will be cheered, anyone who qualifies better than their car suggests they should gets roundly cheered. (Did I mention that the blokes in red often do different things.)
Club gets packed on race day although this has the benefit that if you fall over you don't fall down. But you often can't see that much because some idiot's brought a flag or big hat.
For viewing, the so-called stand just after Bridge is phenominal. It really gives an impression of the speed these cars get up to. If you get near the front you can see them come over the rise sometimes two abreast (I've seen three side by side) and it's not so much a case of who brakes first as who brakes. You can't see much of the circuit other than the start of the infield, but even so it is exciting. The diamond screen is there for the posh people so you can see what's going on elsewhere.
Take earplugs, especially for the stand at Bridge.
