ITV F1 hits a new low

So now we are only getting to hear from Lewis in the press conference !
What on earth are ITV playing at,cant wait for the coverage to go to the BBC.
Hopefully the coverage may be a bit more even.Disgusted with ITV !

When the football is on, there is still a load of waffling after the match finishes even if it over runs. They know the maximum time an F1 race will take because it is prescribed in the rules. It can't be that hard to take it into account.

Fair enough,time constraints apply but we could have heard the press conference in full if Ryder and "wot e sed" Blundell had wittered less !

ITV love to talk up Lewis' chances whatever situation he's in. There was no way he was gonna catch Massa. Ferrari just turned down the wick to save the enging. That was clear as the nose on yer face yet ITV make out their race pace has slipped. And as for getting Hamilton to yap, I wouldnt expect anything less from steTV. Roll on next season and to hell with Sony, ITV, and all their time wasting ads.



Someone somewhere's gotta add up the total track time missed due to ads/sponsorship since ITV took over.





PS does the switch to the BEEB mean the ITV _We love Lewis till YOU WANNA PUKE_ F1 Racing mag gets the boot aswell ?

I've recorded the race on my digibox as I was out today. Shall I go watch it or is it another ITV poopfest and I'd be better downloading an Aussie broadcast or something

Yes, but football is important, F1 is not. That's why they don't have adverts during football but do during F1. If it wasn't for football the world wouldn't have something to revolve around and everyone would die.

True, but they interview 3rd place 3rd, so the other interviews were conducted while they were still on air, they just had something "better" to show.

And why would you? We just get the ITV coverage, delayed by hours, then shown 20 minutes later than advertised, cut to the bare minimum, with our own ads. We didn't see anything post race at all.

I get the ITV coverage and commentary, with no advert breaks (just gaps in the commentary where ITV are taking them)
I also got all the press conference including the drivers talking in their own languages.

In additiion we get all the practise sessions live as well as the qualifying and a 60 minute preview show on the Wednesday before each race.

That bites. I "saw" an aussie broadcast from last year that had two local commentators and Murray Walker Just presumed your coverage was better as a norm, but I guess not

No. The reason they don't have adverts during football is that there is a thing called "half time" halfway through the game.

ITV can't do any sports coverage properly, they ruin everything they get their hands on. Their decision to put the BTCC on ITV4 is just as bad, whats the point in paying for it if you're not going to show it properly?

The BTCC coverage on ITV4 is really good - they show the whole day, 5+ hours worth with all the support races etc...., not just a quick re-run of the main races.

Ok, ITV have to make money from F1 Broadcasts so they have to appeal to the Man In The Street. The Man In The Street wants to hear about Lewis Hamilton so they have to cover that so they can get the viewing figures that will bring in the ad revenue.

BBC don't have to worry about this - being a public service broadcaster - so hopefully they will have slightly less bias coverage.

Anyway, no one has mentioned the true low-point of this weekend's coverage, which was the truly appalling interview between Ted Kravitz and Martin Whitmarsh. The gist of the interview was 'we don't know what's going on with Heikki, we just know he's been sent to hospital"... Kravitz, having been told several times that they don't know how he is (true or not) then finishes with the question, "So will Heikki be racing next weekend?"

I mean, come on! What a truly, desperately, moronic question!

I just wanted Martin to say something like, "I'm not even going to dignify that with an answer".

Can't say I had any issues with the ITV coverage of the Spanish GP, but then I was watching the Le Mans Series race from Monza on Motors TV - lots of action, lots of overtaking and no cars with a set of comedy rabit ears stuck on the nose.
