I was a bit disapointed he didnt tell us the comparisons for all the other corners, like surely the last chicane would be like having a jack russell tied to your helmet or say turn one could be a cocker spaniel 
. I'm pretty sure Brundle was peeing himself too as he went very quite and when he started speaking again he was quite clearly trying to stop himself from laughing.

thread.im gettin sick of ppl bashing james alan. ive known and worked with james for a couple of years, hes a thoroughly nice guy and is very VERY knowledgable about the sport. i really dont see why people have a problem with him...if murray made a mistake it was just shrugged off as a murryism if james makes a mistake apparently its the end of the world. maybe if you think you could do better sen your CV to:

James may well be a very nice guy, and he may be very knowledgeable about the sport, but the fact is, he talks utter bks, and conveys zero atmosphere, where Murray conveyed the atmosphere such that you could cut it with a cricket bat, even if he did make the odd excited gaff every paragraph or three.I'd rather listen to Sarah Kennedy's show on a weekday morning.

He may be a thoroughly nice guy, Mr Aquilamotorsport, possibly even saintly for all we know, he may even have a brain the size of a planet when it comes to motorsport, but that does not alter the fact that he comes across as an utter cock-end on TV.
When you put yourself in the public spotlight as a TV pundit, or whatever, you must be prepared to take the brickbats along with the praise, as and when it comes.
Roll on the issue of his P45, and I'm sure he'll come to you for a character reference when he needs one.

I've heard that JA's book on Schumacher is a fine read and he certainly has journalistic credentials but that doesn't make him a great commentator. Interesting you note running out of things to say as there is far too much dead air during a race, which didn't happen with Murray (although you'd often hear him coughing in the background!). Whilst Brundle isn't speaking either, he's paid to be an expert, James is the continuity guy, yet he always comes across as the junior partner.''i wanna be the next murray walker''
