are useless. For all its the pinnacle of motorsport why don't the FIA just enforce a small LCD screen in the cockpit?

The whole problem with F1 is the FIA "enforcing" random crap all over the place. There needs to be a thorough, ground up redesign of the formula, not just picking the odd little bit and fiddling with it.

Mirrors are needed, they need to be more stable and also wider they should be tested by the fia more to make sure that people can see through them. Crazy Dave Coulthard has proven visions not great, there not wide enough and they vibrate too much. Not all technology should be aloud, especially launch control (even though it is governed).

Ever tried viewing an LCD screen in bright sunlight?

They wouldn't work in a single seater because the cockpit is too small. They use LCD screens in GT1 and GT2 cars as a substitute for a rear view mirror, helps at night and on cars that lack a rear window.
