Passed the ARDS test this morning at Oulton Park, Yay!!

Have already registered so I'll be driving car number 24, so all I have to do now is fill a few entry forms in, get some Dunlop tyres sorted out and hopefully see you at Angelsey.

Please be gentle with mewink

Also hope to take part at Silverstone and Oulton

nice one dave.

Have you joined the BRSCC. Race membership £150 I think.

Also there is a small loop hole you may want to use re tires, you can use the ones on the car untill they need replacing then you must fit dunlops.

you may want to take advantage of this if your budget is very tight.

I'd also say you should do at least one test day with your car, to get more of a race like feel.

Hi Leigh. Yip, already joined BRSCC and got my card. Haven't got any slicks for the car yet so may as well go straight into the Dunlops. Might use my R888's as intermediates until they are knacked if that is acceptable though. Already got a set of Dunlop wets.

No time for test days between now and next month due to other commitments but have got a couple of track days so they will have to do.

I could have bought a Tuscan Racer for what that sodding thing cost. Although I might look for a knackered old Griff for next year. Know of any knocking about Andy?wink

Tell me about it,
If I had to pay for labour, I could have bought a very nice Tuscan Racer.

I've just sent off my registration for the series today.

ARDs 4th July, medical 4th July, testing 5th/ 6th July at Rockingham and with some luck, Anglesey 19th July.

More competition for the back of the grid place - this time in the form of an old M series. smile

You can't test untill you get your licence back AFAIK. will take at least 3-4 days to get your licence. I think if you express it you can get a temp licence via fax but that will take a day or two.

Also you should have your medical before you take the test. you can get away with it.

You not leaving yourself much room. to get things sorted.

Hi Leigh,
My testing will be at a track day or two at Rockingham, but I have a non-race licence (Sprint/hillclimb) so test days would not be an issue. No need for the medical before the ARDs as advised by Oulton.

In terms of time scale for completion, I was working towards Cadwell, but everthing seems to go to the right with dates (As you know all too well). I'm working in Germany at the moment which possibly works against me as I'm reliant on others to finish the car build - although if I'm honest, that would have been the case even if I were at home. At least the money earned in Europe helps fund the cars build.

The dates I can control I'll achieve, if I make the other dates I'll be a very happy but poorer person.

The hard work and frustration that has gone into your car deserves some payback in terms of enjoyment, hopefully we'll be amongst the newbies at Anglesey having fun rather than spectating....again.

Yes will be cool to get on the track with the car, instead of just watching, no matter how much fun this is.

Oh did not know you could do a test day on a non/race licence.
I know you can do Trackdays, but thought you have to have a full race licence for a test day, as you are allowed timing etc.

as said you can get away without having the medical before doing the ARDS but it's recommended to have it 1st. the DVD says you should have, but you can get away with not having it.
Also make sure the doc doing the medical has a FOV machine. I had to pay £83 for the medical then £47 for a FOV test.

All the above depends on how pedantic they people doing the ARDS or Medical want to be.

you coming to Brans to watch.
