BBC F1 Line up for 2009...

We all know the biggest secret in TV about 'The Cock' getting the chop for 2009

However, still unsure of who should anchor the show. I just hope the rumours of that northern tt off the One Show on BBC1 and Richard Hamond are just that, rumours. Don't get me wrong, I love the hamster in what he does which is Top Gear, but he's no motorsport journo, and would probably piss off as many people as The Cock would. As for the bloke of the One Show - please!!!! I'd rather have the cock back

I've seen her on the box before and I think her voice and presentation is fresh and would appeal to all, pure-breed F1 fans and the casual onlooker too. Come on BBC, take a gamble and put this woman in the anchor slot, with DC as the modern day F1 expert (as we all know he's quiting at the end of the year, once he's agreed the BBC salary - and I think you'll on to a winner), along with Brundle in the comms box.

All we need now is a bloody good commentator to balance Brundle.

Adrian Chiles is from Wolverhampton in the Midlands, not exactly northen.

I remember Lee Mckenzie doing some car program on ITV a few years back on sunday afternoons. Seemed to know her stuff.

Im Surprised nobody has mentioned Big Jim Rosenthal to be presenter....He has just finished on ITV...last nights boxing was the last of Jim on ITV..............

Pundits:- Maybe Different ones...Jackie Stewart, Mark Blundell, Eddie Irvine, Eddie Jordan
Commentators:- Martin Brundle And Maurice Hamilton

Someone has put together a mock-up of what the BBC intro sequence might be like in 2009. People who aren't LH fans might want to avoid it!!

From Autosport - Brundle denies BBC deal is done

The BBC is finalising its 2009 coverage plans at the moment, with former Radio 5 Live commentator Jonathan Legard believed to be favourite to land the leading commentary role.

Sources say that Legard is in the final stages of negotiation to head the commentary team, which will see him return to F1 after a spell in football.

It is expected that Legard will be joined in the commentary box by Brundle, although no deal has yet been agreed.
BBC sport presenter Jake Humphrey is tipped to replace ITV's Steve Rider as the front man for the coverage, with David Coulthard set to join as a pundit.
