Whos the best in the wet these days?

I'm reading 'Flat Out Flat Broke' at the moment, and when it rained it sounds like Perry Mcarthy was (is) a dab hand.
Also with a wet Monaco the other week and a the possibility of another wet one this weekend - who is now regarded as a rain master?

If you're referring to when he went off, that was at the bottom of the pit straight, which is after a blind crest and down a fairly steep hill. Water had cascaded down the hill, so he came over the blind crest to find his car floating on a river. The same thing happened to six other drivers at the same time. It had nothing to do with one's wet-driving skills.
Alonso is plainly one of the best in the wet, as he demonstrated at that same race, which he won after overtaking Massa on the outside with a couple of laps remaining.

it doesn't matter how good you are... if your car is aquaplaning (read: floating) then you have no control at all. And as you can't know if there is a river on the track (especially if you can't see it), then if it happens it is clearly not the fault of the driver.
In my experience, where the blame lies depends on who is driving.;)we've had a few races in the last 10 years where part of the track has been basically flooded. In each case, around 5 drivers went off at that point due to aquaplaning. It is clear to anyone watching that,once aquaplaning, the driver is no longer in control. If you've ever experienced the same in your car, for example on a motorway, then you will know that too.

The first 6 drivers on the scene of the river ended up in the kitty litter it was only when it made clear with double waved yellows, marshalls waving, etc, that the drivers that survived it realised there was a major problem and slowed down accordingly.
