That books going to go one of two opposite ways really, isn't it?

1. It's going to be utterly jaw-dropping and an incredibly interesting and exceedingly uncomfortable read.

2. He's bottled out in a massive way and it will be unbearably disappointing.

I really hope it's the first. I will definitely be reading it.

If there is any dirt it will hardly be accurate coming from someone that was 'passed' over, commited industrial espionage and subsequently fired by the company in question.

But certain people will hang off every word.

I suspect the truth will be somewhere in the middle but I certainly don't feel we've been served with anything like that as things presently stand.

If it consists of revelations:

I can't see it saying anything that we don't already know. Whatever Stepney says it is hardly likely to make the earth move. There was a Sauber driver who said in a magazine that Todt ordered him to cheat, the implication being that his team would lose their engines if he did not. Whether this is true or not is a matter of conjecture as the FIA did absolutely nothing about it. They'll do nothing about anything Stepney reveals.

What on earth can Stepney say that is likely to surprise us, let alone shock us?

Stepney was one of the greats and instrumental in MSchumacher's success. It's a shame that his later conduct has tarnished his reputation. His reason for joining the dark side would be interesting but that's about all.

What the sport does not need at the moment is coals being raked over. MRM has caused enough problems without others putting the boot in. Sponsors might well be looking for a way out at the moment.

This seems a bit like Cherry Blair putting the boot in with Brown at a time when it would make the most money.

There are actually other options than 'believing everything you read' and 'every word is a lie'.

Don't think so, I have my name down on his site (address in my first post) but not been mailed yet!!

Isn't there still the small matter of a legal case in Italy pending against Mr. Stepney? Will this have any impact on the release date of this book? Or if it's all nicey nicey, will we see the court case vanish in the smoke? I'm sure that McLaren and Ferrari will both be taking an unhealthy interest in all aspects of the book, including anything that may be considered libel. Will Max be getting a copy too?

dont know the way Italian law works but in the UK he'd be an idiot to mention any of the recent "goings on" in his book before the vourt case. So I dont expect much in the way of revelations.
