My question really stems from reading the blue book and becoming a little shocked as to how easy it could be to get into trouble?

I suffer occasionally from sinusitis and my doctor in the past has prescribed Psudoephedrine tablets which are to relieve the symptoms associated. I noted yesterday that Psudoephedrine is a banned substance. I would never have thought a simple remidy from sinus pain, blocked ears and runny nose prescribed by my GP would be a banned substance.

Obviously I know now so can take appropriate action but wondered if anyone else had had similar experience? obviously we are hardly at the pinnacle of the sport where drug testing is likely but I just thought i would share this in the event of any other snotty nosed competitors out there were prescribed similar??

The list of banned substances is a bit of a joke at our level ( imho) it also includes caffine ( ok quite a high amount).

The do drugs test even at club level ( a mate of mine in mg's has been tested twice) but I think they are more interested in alcohol and obvious drugs than anything else... you'd be fairly unlucky to get done for an over the counter medication...

If you want to stick to the letter of the law ( which must be the recommendation) you'll find it difficult and expensive, or live with the effects of the condition... or chance it...
