Silverstone help please

I am looking to go to my first F1 GP next year and being the last at Silverstone for a long while I would like to get the best seat I can.

I have been looking at Luffield or Woodcote (has to be somewhere to sit and preferably covered as the wife is coming too). On the Silverstone website they are currently listing Luffield A and Woodcote B but when you look at the map of the site these dont look like the better seats,(Woodcote A seems like a good place but not listed). Also when you get your tickets do they have a seat number on them?. When do the other seating areas come up for sale in this part of the race circuit?.

Basically what I am asking for is where would be the best place for us to watch the race from in your opinions. Would really love to be able to go down into the paddock area but dont think will have that much spare cash!

Hi it was our first silverstone this year we sat at stowe (uncovered) the atmosphere was so good we did'nt care about the rain but if you want a covered seat becketts is a great place to watch from if you have a 3 day ticket fri and sat you can go where you please we sat at becketts for a while i don't know why they are'nt listing all the seats we are thinking of going again and yes your seats are numbered for race day.

I always enjoy Copse. Seeing the speed they carry into the corner is just awesome. Plus you can see the comings and goings of the pit stops, and there is easy access into the infield if you require it. I can certainly see the attraction of the complex though. It's the best place for seeing the cars the longest, albeit at their slowest.

If you want to make it special, try a hospitality box. They are rather expensive but worth it as a treat.
I was in one for practice day this year just above the pits entrance. Breakfast, lunch and tea with drinks (inc champagne) all day, paddock access (loads more space and a chance of seeing a driver if that rocks your boat). In field parking and no mud. Car's passing only 3 to 4 meters from where you are with TV coverage in the box too.
Cost £300 + VAT per person on Saturday but over £800 on Sunday.

My advice - go on practice day for the atmosphere and watch race at home on the Sunday.

Thanks for all your help and I have decided to sit at Woodcote, well I have had a manic week at work and have now missed out on tickets for Woodcote according to the official Silverstone website. Are there any other trusted ticket sellers that you have used that sell official tickets that will get me in to the 3 days... please help if you can

I got last years tickets from the silverstone website, couldn't fault it the delivery wasn't too much either. There was a british gp site that was based in Holland but charged a lot more for delivery. Also woodcote is good corner you can see a lot of the track from that spot. Me and my mate sat at Becketts and really couldn't fault it, amazing view and you wouldn't believe the speed they came through at. I think if you get a gold grandstand or platinum you can sit at other spots on the friday and the saturday. I recommend spending some time down the very far side of Becketts, if your not afraid of getting wet get yourself down at club for a bit.
