Where's Brundle?

Just turned on the coverage of the GP, and noticed a distinct lack of Martin Brundle. Is this some form of kickback from his infamous 'Pikey' quote of a few weeks ago?

Apparently he normally chooses to miss this race every year. Probably because once the first lap's over, there's not much to talk about. Nothing to do with pikeys digging up his drive or anything...

No idea. I wonder if his tarmac laying comment got him pulled. I hope not. I like brundle. I did enjoy the different style of commentary though.

Yeah, I missed the walk up to drivers/team principals, barge other TV crews/reporters out the way, and start talking, pre-race bit.

At least Hill knows a bit about racing.. But yes, was it me or did he keep correcting James Allen?

Thats harsh, I enjoyed Damon's commentary, he left his ego at home unlike said Brundle and gave a proper insight of winning races and championships (something Martin could only dream of)

Anyone with an ounce of knowledge about F1 could correct James Allen. The number of times he is blatantly talking out of his ae is unbelievable.

Agreed - I enjoyed Damon's commentary today, he had some useful insights which he pitched really well. To those watching who don't really follow motor racing, he made sense, yet it didn't come across as patronising to those of us who are more clued up.

When I was karting a few years back on a weekend that clashed with the F1, I saw Martin watching his son race at the event. I wouldn't be surprised if he was doing something similar this weekend.

Davidson did it a couple of years ago when Jenson won IIRC, and he was pretty good. I'm surprised they didn't get him on again as he's currently out of a drive.
