Me and the g/f will be at Spa for the 3 days for the GP and wondered who else may be there?

i'll be there, looking forward to it

getting there early (tue) they open up the circuit and you can drive round - obviously quite slowly as there are lots of people around putting up all the mics and painting etc

Quick question about Spa - have any of you just turned up on the day and parked? I may or may not be getting a lift and have missed any dates to pre-book parking.

What is the best way to deal with parking [and quick exit] on the Sunday?

Forget about a quick exit, unless you want to leave as the first car crosses the line. See my link above about parking.

As for taking a caterham, to be honest I wouldn't want to take any nice car. Last year I saw several Ferraris, Astons etc in the car parks being sat on for photos by some race fans. Nice, considering they could scratch the paintwork, or set off the alarm and run the battery down. In my opinion, nice cars in the car park are a waste, and you are potentially asking for trouble. Not to mention the overheating whilst you queue to get away...

Do we need some sort of secret code wave so we can all say hello!!? I'll be the one in the honda top by the way....!

well the old circuit is all public roads - the route is on wiki and you can do all of it apart from one corner (plus they put traffic lights at one corner now). also if go where eau rouge used to carry on to the old circuit, sometimes at that point (the corner of the public road) the acccess road to the track and crash barrier onto the track are open, and if you go down the hill a little bit, turn left through the trees, they leave a crash barrier open that goes onto the circuit 3/4 of the way up eau rouge

you have to get there probably weds latest to get onto the actual circuit tho and you can't really blast it or you'll probably get thrown off, you have to make it look like you are actually doing something to do with the GP...

Suggesting taking the caterham was a) wishful thinking [as it's setup for the track] b) to avoid taking her car.

Been years ago and Mrs thought it was st hole, dodgey food dirty toilets etc, has it improved much? surely yes if Silverstone is the only one getting the threats from Bernie these days?

The chips with mayonaise are second to none, but the toilets aren't that great. I always take some hand sanitiser gel!

I've had the same thought about silverstone getting stick - Spa spectator facilities aren't as good IMHO, but they have upgraded the paddock so maybe that swayed Bernie.. or the £££ perhaps....

Last year I was on a coach and it took us an hour just to get out of the coach park. In total it took us 5 hours to get back to Brussels.

I guess it depends on where you park and how quickly you get out after the race.

At least with Eurotunnel you can arrive late and still get checked onto a later train.
