The Top Gear BMW 330 dti is returning to the race,
the Top Gear Technology Team will be running the car,
this year they are running the same team of engineers,
they are expected to do better this year,
as the car has been totally rebuilt,
after the Off the car had in the night last year.

Britcar office don't know who the drivers will be. They didn't find out until a week before last year. Fingers crossed but no-one's going to know 'till last minute
Which is a shame really as if it were known that, for example, the presenting trio plus a Stig of some description were definitely driving, then it would certainly help James and crew market the event off the back of that. I'm sure that would bring a few more punters through the gate in this 'celebrity' concious age.Trackside said:

was a one of my favourite episodes last year and if they had not have crashed they would have done realy well as the car seemed to be very well set up and deserves to do well this time.NotKnowNowt said:

I was amazed last year of the number of people stood 9 yards away giggling like eejuts and taking pics and then walking off...
We went over and a had a chat with them... Jm is a bit of a cock but the others were ok.

Remember that ALL media people, right down to those snotty little urks that answer the phone on a Radio 5 Live phone in, are up themselves right up to their tits. That's why they're there! Top Gear is NOT a motoring magazine programme - if it was my mum (71) would not wait all week to watch it, record it and then watch it another 48 times before the next show. JM, JC and RH are all stunt men (as my late father put it) and say and do the things they do for effect. It's why they're on the telly!I'm sure they are charming people when they out with their genuine friends but don't expect them not to be on their guard when "chatting" with people they don't know. I once met a famous actor in a cafe and because we couldn't really get away from each other we had to make conversation and jolly nice it was too I thought.....until I learnt that he was told by his agent to to talk, by default, about identical subjects with ALL the strange people he should meet.
Sportsmen? Different beings altogether but that's for another post.
