on the roof or the rear hatch. your cat probably has a small metal plate rivited on to the roof so the mag mount works.

you could just drill a couple of holes and hold it down with tie wraps..

it wants a good clear view of the sky. also best on the center line of the car

If it is similar to the Garmin GPS receiver that I have for my Motec logger, the installation instructions say that if it is not mounted on a metal surface, you 'may' need to fit a metal plate approx 6" square under it. Can be ali or steel. I've got a load of ali tape on the inside of the roof of the car under the antenna, but it remains to be seen if this works....
