Those who will rule on McLaren's Spa appeal

The FIA's International Court of Appeal will rule on McLaren's appeal of yesterday's stewards' ruling in Spa.
The ICA has 15 judges, plus a Secretary General. The judges are members of the legal profession who sit on the ICA in their spare time. The SG chooses a subset of the 15 judges to hear an individual appeal. The subset may not include a judge who comes from the same country of one of the parties directly affected by the appeal.
The ICA SG is named Ken Daly.

In becoming SG in late 2006, Daly replaced David Ward, who left the post to become a "special advisor" to Max Mosley.

Irrespective of the eventual outcome it is farcical that it has got this far.
F1 is finished in the eyes of the genuine motorsport enthusiast. I sat bemused last night after watching the highlights (I'd been racing myself at Thruxton), It isn't sport anymore and doesn't reward fair play or competition, it is a circus.

Surinder Thatti - Head of FIA Confederation of African Countries in Motorsport (this is the guy who controlled the massive african vote and effectively let Mosley off the hook and he's also the one who singles out Sébastien Loeb, as “unshaven, scruffy and with unkempt hair”.
Yves Bacquelaine is Chairman of Spa and also an FIA delegate - but was involved with re promotion of Spa - after it went bankrupt with losses of 7million euros

David Miles is one of two CAMS (Confederation of Australian Motor Sport) delegates to the FIA's ICA.

IINM, the 3 stewards are local to that race but it's chaired by Alan Donnelly who's supposed to ensure consistency in decisions.He was either in the toilet when this decision was taken or decided that we've had enough of this 'racing' malarky in F1.

That's one of the big debates - it's different at every GP - they are amateurs and mostly non racersThere are calls for a pool of professional stewards, with racing experience - and not those who have exclusively raced for Ferrari !

The organiser/domestic FIA member can choose one local steward, but the other two have to be from other countries.Anthony Scrivener the GB judge?? He who was selected to defend Saddam Hussein by Saddam's family??

It would be interesting to read the minutes of the stewards meeting at Spa.
Opening line by Bendovernfeuhrer A Donnely " Now then gentlemen. About your fixture for 2009............ "
Then again I don't suppose an outfit like the FIA dare bother with minutes of any meeting in case they are used in evidence against them at a later date. We can rest assured that the truth will not out, as is usual with FIA decisions.
While I'm at it, this poor standard of decision making reaches right down to grass roots racing as well now. I was excluded from my first race at Brands yesterday for going into the gravel trap at Clearways. How fair is that. They should have stopped the race, pulled me out and let me start at the front because of the stress and anxiety my excursion caused me as it wasn't my fault or anything to do with my dismal lack of skill.
