Or is there a new set of plans showing a ring and some chairs to whack over the competitor's heads?

Doesn't look too bad - at least the Redgate to Coppice bit looks to be intact, and it's the only logical place to add more circuit. I think it'll slope down nicely to the new hairpin and climb back up the hill to rejoin the old circuit.

God knows where they're going to put enough parking and sort out how to get tens of thousands of cars in and out though. I suspect some kind of park & ride system near the motorway.

There's a Ferrari on the big screen. Clear sign of Ferrari bias within Donington architectural design team!

it will be impossible to overtake from the melbourne hairpin round to redgate. the long sweeping left hander into the tight left hadner is reminiscent of interlagos. the tight right hander onto the start/finish straight will not provide any overtaking either ala the last corner at magny cours. if you want to see cars going fast it will be great, the racing will be done in the pits.

So they have only just started on the planing of the buildings, and they expect the circuit to be ready in under 2 years, Good luck with that then?

Maybe Hermann Tilke has a Ferrari consultant who advises him on what type of corners Ferrari are best at. The obvious no-nos are chicanes because McLaren are obviously better at braking hard than they are.

They have not applied for planning permission, the airport is objecting, and they have only now 20 months to totally transform the circuit. It won't happen and the British GP slot will go to Moscow or Deli or whoever bungs Bernie the most money. The Donnington GP was always a farce { like Brands Hatch a few years ago} which was a fig leaf to allow him to move to somewhere willing to pay a subsidy.

It will happen to Germany, France, Belgium ete etc given a coupole of years. Welcome to the " non European, non US " world championship.
