Well at least the FIA have done something decisive. Tonight they released details of the Appeal panel:

It's either option 3 or 4 for me.

I've plumped for 3 as very few non-red teams have successfully appealed against a stewards decision, and history has shown that the punishment for failed appeals is normally increased to put people off of appealing in the future.

So, with that in mind I can, sadly, see Hamilton being fined $50000 and disqualified from the Spa results completely.

Judging by the comments on the Ferrari Forum last night, they would find the appeal in favour of the appellant, and return the appeal fee, and restore the results to those originally declared when the chequered flag dropped.

Look at the back pages of most every newspaper. The commentary's from just about every new broadcast. None of them could believe it. Even 'The Rat' has come out on Hammy's side.

Did Hamilton really lift to give Raikonnen his place back? No. He was out dragged due to Kimi getting better traction out of the corner.. (because he stayed on the track.)

Would Hamilton have cut the corner had it been a gravel trap.? No. (He was half over the kerb and could have got it back on track, but cut the corner once he saw Raikonnens car retake position. Even though Kimis tyres were shot, it was too late in the race to make up the time lost there..)

I doubt the appeal judges will see it any differently..

Lewis is a born racer, and will win the title regardless...
