At what point do the betting shops have an issue with this?
this is getting very close to race 'fixing', which we all know (from the ge-ge's) is highly illegal...
can you imagine the situation where a punter who had money on LH to win, walks into the shop after the race and want's his cash..
they pay out, then the FIA suddenly demote him, what now?
even worse, next punter comes in wanting to be paid out on backing Massa?
I would suggest that the shops are going to be somewhat reticent to take any more bet’s on this basis...

I feel far more sorry for LH, the team, fans who paid to watch what they thought was still a sport etc.
A similar problem could occur if a car was found to have some technical infringement after the event. A subsequent penalty would change the result. Simple answer is don't bet on motor racing as it's always been a team sport, subject to team strategy etc. Stick to ggs or poker for gambling.

to be fair there is even more corruption in the donkey derbys....can anyone see it getting any better with the increase in circuits being built in areas of the world which have a known history of gambling irregularities* particularly now that the Arab group who have bought man City also own 9% of Ferrari F1.....

I don't think the betting shops will pay out until results are confirmed by the FiA(SCO). Although it does mean that any bets on the championship results are going to be affected by a future decision on the appeal.this is getting very close to race 'fixing', which we all know (from the ge-ge's) is highly illegal...
