Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but as most of us know Danica Patrick has a test drive with Honda just before christmas, and with Barrichello's rumored move to Indycar, could this be a sign of the first female F1 driver?
What do you guys think? My thought is that she would be good for F1, it would give us something to get excited about once the FIA have finished fixing the race, but no more shall be said about that until anything happens at Monza.
She would probably not be any good, with having only turned left on racetracks the last few years, but like I said, it would make more entertaining TV than most of the races and aftermath, plus taking a peek at her means you can actually block out James Allen's terrible warbling, mind you even he would perhaps shut up?

Given your sweeping statements, I'd guess you aren't too clued up. Danica is a solid racer and has done more than 'turn left on racetracks' for the past few years. Will she be in F1? I doubt it, 12 months to run on a very lucrative AGR IRL contract which she will see out and then I think Mrs Patrick will be off to NASCAR. It will be a great PR test for F1 though having Danica in the car but I think it is more likely to be Pantano/Senna/Grosjean/Alonso in that 2nd Honda next year

its nothing to do with speed, if it was, many drivers would never had sat in an F1 car. I could list off a whole host of names who have only got an F1 drive because of their wallet size...... and thats the Danica factor, good looking female, quite handy behind the wheel, perfect PR......every sponsor would be desperate to have her in their team for the publicity and Bernie is desperate to have her in F1 for that very fact.... Honda did it for a bit of kudos.....and as for Rubens going to Indy, his wife has said No!!!

I could be wrong, but I don't think the novelty factor will last long.
OK I do mean the 6th, but there was only one on that list from my lifetime who failed to start a race so I can't remember. OK I got it a bit wrong, I don't follow Indycars so presumed that like most American racing they just go round ovals. I forgot they so a race at Laguna Seca and Surfer's Paradise don't they?
I agree, she would be a good candidate to replace Piquet Jr, but she would probably fall for thecharm huge wallet of Briatore.
I would have thought it will be easier for her to get an F1 seat at Honda because of Indycar (hers had Honda engines yes?), but if it doesn't work out and she ends up in NASCAR she should be OK, there will always be Juan Pablo Montoya to overtake.

i think she'd be good for F1 as long as she's competitive, i haven't followed her progress to know either way.

The thing is, I don't like her attitude. I think by doing all this physical confrontation stuff, she is exploiting the fact she is a woman.
