Challenge car spares, and availability.

OK, so I'm now the proud owner of an Ex Challenge car(Phill Bunns re build), so now I'm looking for some bits. A set of rims with slicks, old or new, and also new head light(perspex) covers. And yes Phill if your reading this I did manage to get the car safetly home through the monsoon last thursday. And many thanks to the Penrith M/way Police for not doing me for over taking in the fast lane with a trailer and TVR loaded, for not having road tax on my Range Rover and finally a broken tail light on tthe trailer - their not a bad bunch of guys really.

Rims are about but fairly rare, Compomotive do something suitable but they are a bit heavy. Im the wrong person to ask about 2nd hand tyres, as they are generally through to canvas when i take them off

For any suspension bits John Reid is yer man.

Head light covers I can sort :-)

Hi I looked at Phils car, was a very nice one and I nearly bought it but ended up with anoher. You racing it next year?

Dont think I'll be racing it this year mainly because I want to SPEND some more MONEY on it and get it just right. What Credit crunch I hear you say, hell I work in Aberdeen, the credit crunch doesn't exist there(Oilfield Trash).

i have just bought a set of 18" rims (oz) on racecars direct... you can see them on the site still...and i think its going to be too much effort to fit them for this season.....happy to lend them to you for oulton or would condider selling...as long as dunlop still do 16 inch tyres... i will have to check first

Yes Dunlop still do 16" tyres and 15", they better else all the Tasmin guys would be stuck.

thanks will check with dunlop as lots of people do 225 width (7s and 8' rims) but not many still do a 16 wide enough and low profile for a 9x16 rim......are any tasmin guys running 9x16?

I' planning to run Tuscan wheels 9x16's but need to do some body work 1st to get them to fit.
but last time I looked at the Dunlop site there was a few options.

rear's need wider arches and the front need either lower profiles or slight mods to the sills.

These should be ok though

I physically managed to bolt some bare 18 * 9 rims on the taz once. the rears would be ok with some low profile tyres and arch extensions.. the fronts well without the tyres on you only had about 5 degrees of steering before fouling on the chassis..

do you just need tyre or wheel also....i have some avon slicks on 9x16 oz you can borrow for sizing

You lucky git, I got points for towing a fully taxed ttow car and race car on trailer in the outside lane (been doig for as long as I can remember) and all lights working and intact.
