Which driver combo from this year would you choose for next?

Ok, so you're a team manager looking for your pair of drivers based upon the current pairs (no constraints on budget, contract etc). Bare in mind all the factors; the marketability of your drivers, their development capability and of course their race performance.
Just interested to know which two drivers have impressed the PH massive over their current driving.


I expect Ferrari, Mclaren, BMW and STR will lead the votes. Hamilton is undeniably talented and marketable and after a slow start Kovalainen is turning into a great racer.

I think the Ferrari drivers whilst good seem to be less flamboyant and a lot less interesting and good a combination as the rest of the choices.

Whilst Heidfeld has been slated a bit he does seem to be improving and as a team manager I would definately give him another shot especially as with Kubica this is one of the best driver partnerships around.

After Vettels performance today I think future superstar but lets not jump to conclusions although he has been one of the best along with Trulli and Webber at getting points. I'm also a great fan of Bourdais who in the last few races appears to be settling into F1 a lot more and looking more like the multiple championship winner he is. Probably my second choice of drivers.

Despite Alonso's massive proven potential I think he's let down by Picquet who whilst being a perfectly good rear marker doesn't seem to have Daddy's WDC talent. If Alonso was as good at car development as he says he is however and in a setup with Brawn being the next Schumacher I could see a good few WDC won but after his exploits last year I just wouldn't want to employ him despite his marketability to the Spanish.

I don't think any of the rest of the driver partnerships other than maybe Trulli and Glock would be in the favourites. Barrichello, Fisi and DC are too old and whilst bring a lot to the development don't have the same race performance as Hami/Massa/Kubica or even Webber. Bottom of the list I think would be Nakajima - the worst performer this season?


So who are the perfect pair?

Davidson + Sato. Davidson because he is a breath of fresh understated british air next to Hamilton, and Sato so I could have cheap Honda engines.

I think Vettel and Kubica would be a great pairing.

Hamilton would be a great addition to a small team for his marketing potential, though only Ferrari could ever afford to tempt him from Papa Rons Bosom.
