Sorry for the lack of updates, so much has been happening here at Silverstone.
A huge crash on the start line of the first lap took out two stunning contenders, the TVR Sagaris
and the LNT Ginetta.
The resulting pace car lasted an hour and caused the Corvette to have an engine mangagement issue
and the car lost 4 laps, dropping it to 46.
However...a stunning fight back now sees the C5 LMGT in......2nd place at just before 3am.

Just a short written update as we head to the close of the 24 hour as a full report
will follow at www.corvetteracing.co.uk
As mentioned the car was running a stunning 2nd and closing quickly on the race
leading Topcats Marcus when it lost a wheel as it headed into Club at 5am due to
a component failure.
Ten laps were lost as it was recovered and it dropped to 12th.
Again charging and already back up to 7th, at 7.10 the engine let go in style.
The team did a complete engine out and change and returned to the track to well
deserved applause from all in the pit lane.
Back now in 32nd the team's aim was just to make the finish, but with 2 hours 20
left, the head gasket went and it was game over.
The car will appear to take the flag and it's the very least the hard working crew
and drivers deserve.
A pictorial diary of the above from the many hundreds of images follows, while

Finally, well done to everyone in the team, an awesome race by the entire
Xero Competition team and one that won't be forgotten.

We were only 2 garages along, so saw all the hard graft put in by your team...what a great effort from everyone, well done.(I was a bit concerned when it left the pits doing a pretty good impression of a thousand gallon kettle though!

For a few minutes it was just like a Pink Floyd concert with all the smoke and rock ) music over powering the engine noise..and then the Corvette emerging from out of it!
The Xero Competition guys did a stunning job to get the car back out and I'd like
to thank them all publically along with Mitch, Alan, James and Joe for making me
so welcome.
Delighted to post these two photos and to congratulate the entire team for coming
from last to 2nd during the race.

When the General Motors aftersales manager found out how quickly it's possible to swap a Corvette engine, he was after trimming the warranty time for the job.
There were just two things he needed to learn.
Only Dave Beecroft could get seven technicians into one engine bay at the same time, and, it makes a difference when you've got the new parts in stock.
It does make you wonder how fast they could have done the job with a cold engine. All the steam and boiling oil resembled a medieval seige.
Magic effort guys - A triumph out of a disaster.
