BTCC; who will replace Seat?

Just wondered who you would all like to see replace SEAT in the BTCC.
A new Mondeo touring car would make sense but Ford are still a little cash strapped so that's them and Volvo out, except for perhaps a privateer entry. But I for one would love to see Alfa Romeo return to the BTCC with Plato, Turner and a 159. Just as long as they don't cheat like they did with their Aero package in the old days with the 155.
Or could some other companies be looking to go for it? BMW are in the BTCC so could Mercedes step in?

I doubt we will see a completely new manufacturer certainly no Merc or Audi as they are too busy playing with DTM. I think the most likely candidate is that there will be a works chevriolet team next year, as the wtcc cars are currently prepared by Ray Mallock anyway

Apart from the 159, what other cars are we missing from the WTC series?

I'd love to see a Mondeo out there banging doors with an Octavia, 159, 407, Accord, etc.

Nobody. It's not the right financial time. I can see someone funding the ex works team to run the SEATs. But I dont think manufacturers will step up.

One of the top men from Honda UK was interviewed on the grid at Brands. His answer wasn't yes..but it most certainly wasn't no, either...

With the direction that the BTCC is going, I'm expecting manufacturer entries from John Deere, Massey Ferguson and JCB.

Lol, is this because of "Seat's" diesel? It was really an Audi engine, probably the same basic block as in my dad's A6 2.0 TDI S Line, but for the race car tuned beyond belief. Basically, VW got Audi to build the BTCC Leon TDI and stick some Seat badges on it.
And come on, you compare it to a tractor, but which car was the quietest on the circuit? The Leons were spookily silent at Donington it was weird; you could only hear the tyres moving along the tarmac when they went by, but as soon as the petrol ones came through it was like your ears exploded, but in a good way!

i reckon Honda seemed from the interview that something could happen. however im not sure if anyne will enter next season which is a shame tbh but looking at whats happened in WRC i dont think many manufacturers will be willing to enter.

The car and maker that needs promotion is Lancia!
With that Delta they need all the help they can get. DIESEL hatch backs seem to be the way forward.
It's a shame N Technology went the Honda route when the 156 was too long in the tooth. The 159 is just too big.

I dont somehow think you can tune up the 500 engine to the same power as the BMW engine they are using.
