I thought I'd start this one, to congratulate the Stark Racing and Jemco teams and drivers for bringing home their two Ginetta G50s at the end of the Britcar 24 hour race at Silverstone.

Firstly it goes without saying that everyone involved with Jemco Racing wishes Andy, Sara and their family & friends the very best wishes for Andy's speedy recovery. Best wishes also to Dennis, Hazel and the Racesport team who suffered such a distressing weekend.
A huge thanks also to JT, Claire & the Britcar team for putting together the fantastic race weekend. Huge slaps on the back from us.
And most importantly, huge thanks to all those Marshalls that travelled from across the UK to support, help & give up their time so that we can all do what we enjoy doing most of all (well almost!).
Qualifying went well for the team, and although we were slightly disappointed to be just out of the top 20, the car looked & felt great for all the drivers. Five laps of the National circuit on the bikes in support of the Rotary Club just prior to the night time practice got the blood pumping, and this enthusiasm & fun stayed within the team for the rest of the race weekend.
The start obviously brought about the demise of the factory Ginetta, but to the great credit of all at LNT, the guys left the very comfortable pit perch up for us, as well as helping out in the garage when we needed it in terms of man power and moral support (more of which later).
From our starting position of 21st, we rose to 16th in the 2nd hour and then onwards and upwards as the race progressed. A fuel pressure problem meant we were a couple of seconds off our ideal race pace but also meant we could run 2hr 30 / 2hr 45 for each driver stint no problem. Around midnight the lights failed on the car and we had to swop bonnets but other than that the car ran faultlessly through the night time hours. We spent most of the dawn / early morning hours running between 4th & 8th.
We were just about to move into 3rd when the gearbox "failed" at 10.05am. Actually, not so much the gearbox but a screw had popped out of the casting by an 1/8th of an inch and oil was dripping all over the clutch. The boys from LNT helped our guys change the box in less than 50 mins; putting us back into the race in 13th position. We lost 25 laps in all.
We spent the remaining hours gaining positions, and come 4.30pm, we crossed the line (alongside the Stark Racing Ginetta - well done boys !!) in 8th overall - 21 laps behind 3rd place.
Well done to all at Jemco - it was a great team effort.
Well done & thanks to all at LNT / Ginetta for building such a fantastic car. 53 weeks ago the car ran for the first time on a test track - and now two have finished inside the top 8 in the toughest race in the UK. It's a great car with great support - and its British !!
Finally, well done to everyone who finished - it was great to see so many of our motorsport insurance clients doing so well - and also well done to some who didn't (Topcats efforts deserved so much more).
