Dunlop Tyres

Just a quickie, following the recent debate about Dunlop's ,and the relevance of the name to the Challenge.

This suprised me..
I've just ordered 4 new wets from Grantura Engineering, and saved close to £100 on the delivered price from anywhere else.

John's relationship with Dunlop, via the Challenge, means he can supply competitors at a discount.

Worth knowing.

Reidy has been a Dunlop agent for a long time AFAIK , i just did'nt know he was any cheaper.

Had old slicks for the first 3 races. Then got bitten by the bug.......

I thought we were told that we had to buy them through HP Tyres as well. If they're cheaper elsewhere I won't be too impressed either.

Hmmmm. I was under the impression that the tyres from HP were discounted to us (in fact that is what they told me). I have just got a price from Mr Tyre in Birmingham and they were exactly the same price So obviously no special discounts then.

I think the discounts are quite small. Be interesting to see what price we can get the Dunlops for in GT Cup next year.

I've been used to paying £199.50+vat and carriage for Tuscan stuff for the last 2 years.

Maybe this is a new development from John ? I dont know.

But if i can save nearly a ton on a set - i will - without much question.

Hi all and here is my addition to the tyre debate. John can supply a set of Dunlop wets or drys at an all in price of about £860. He is not VAT registered so you will not be able to claim VAT if you are. If you are Vat registered and go through HP Tyres, the price is £798 for a set, £199.5 per tyre plus VAT which you can reclaim giving a total of £937.65. Very simple. Those who can not reclaim VAT go to John, those who can, go to HP or Dunlop. I believe that John's figures also include delivery and I am not sure about HP although last time I bought a set I collected them from HP at Donnington and had them fitted and balanced for nowt.

Im vat reg , but buy my tyres from personal (rapidly depleting ) funds.
So i'll get mine through Reidy.
