This season's been exciting in the main despite Molsey/FiAsco.
We've had the two main title contenders just one point apart at the start of the 15th race of the season and even now there's just the seven points. More importantly we've had seven different winners, last year four at the end of the season. We've had five different cars on the top step whilst last year there were only two.
You've got to agree that the politics aside, this has been a tremendous season. Mosley/FiAsco have got their work out to ruin this season like they did last.

I think I would largely agree with you there Derek. Of course, the number of rain affected races at this stage of the season has levelled the field a few times more than normal.
I am really glad to see the lesser teams getting a shot at the podium, and overall, the pre-monza racing spirit seems to have been better than many other seasons. All that is needed now is to reduce the politics, get rid of some of the newer, boring and difficult to overtake circuits, and it should be even better.

Yes the FIA have ruined one race and made stupid mistakes in others... but for me to see the top 4 not always being in the top 4 is great!

Yes the FIA have ruined one race and made stupid mistakes in others... but for me to see the top 4 not always being in the top 4 is great!
I didn't allude to a particular year, just wished for a good one and expressed the feeling that I am sure that good close racing has happened in the past.
I wasn't referring to only the FIA's stupid mistakes, but also those of the teams and drivers, of which there has been an unusually high amount.

yep - F1 shines through despite crap tilke tracks, FIA inconsistency, and rules which discourage overtaking

Last season, right up to the end was rivetting.
This year is edge of the seat stuff also.
Fernando looked the class he is winning yesterday, and I was uplifted to see LH congratulate him in the ante-room just before the award presentation.
All the bad feeling towards Alonso here doesn't take away from the fact that he is superquick, its just disappointing that his past transgressions have ruled him out of the machinery he needs to win his third title.

After his dispicable behaviour last year I was hoping a barren season would teach him a little humility and his fans that his rotten attitude cost him not only the championship last year but also this year as well. Long may the renault be uncompetitive I say because who else would want that petulant, scheming little prima donna in their team? He doesn't deserve another win in F1.

I've watched F1 since I was able to walk, but find myself watching the races now more out of routine than enjoyment. The sport is run a pair of greedy tyrants, and surrounded by too much controversy and politics.
Whilst I respect his ability, I'm not a Hamilton fan, and therefore the constant arse liking he gets from the UK media and coverage just serves to frustrate and annoy

For all the trouble he caused last year, he is quick.
He may well have been advised poorly, or sheer testosterone got his "gander up". Frustration may well have been skewing his curve, that and the singlemindedness of a World Champion.
Whatever, he's taken that Renault by the scruff of the neck and shewn it who is boss.
People seem to forget how much Ayrton was hated, yes absolutely hated, before he won his first world title.
