Millions of disillusioned F1 motor sport fans--Derek Smith asks where does the true pistonhead enthusiast go to support our lifeblood?.
Perhaps the mega Billions involved in F1 make it impossible to allow the regulations to run the sport on a HONEST basis--that would be Naive.With the FIA making up the NEW rules as and when to suit whatever they wish to arrange ---the teams and sponsers have NO say in their investments OR futures,Untill the accountants say enough now!!! the charade goes on.
Moto GP is an alternative for us PH,s to enjoy at the present time.Following the sport for a lifetime from Geoff Duke to John Surtees to Mike to Ago to- Mick - Rossi NOW-- we havent had the utter corruption in brains from FIM or ACU --or have I missed something?
NO New regs-rules made up as one goes along---hours later a NEW penalty is announced!!!!YOU must be joking!! the real enthusiasts would tear the Dorna organisation to bits--ON the day.
The BEST racing I have ever seen over the past ---Years,without the constant fighting and brainwash from the supposed governing body--- maybe its due to the REAL danger of laying the machine over at 230mph, that puts EVERYTHING into prospective.
TIME to start again in F1?? Derek??.

I'd say that World Superbikes provides better racing than MotoGP.
For me it's the perfect balance between F1 (of the past few years) style where only 1 or 2 guys can win (which MotoGP isn't that far from, and a Superstock/125/250 style free for all where for my tastes too many people are capable of winning which means it's difficult for rivalaries to form and gives the impression that whomever wins on a certain day just happened to get it right that day, rather than is the best all round rider/bike package overall.
It's also helped by the fact that all races, qualifying and practice sessions are provided free to stream from the worldsbk.com site free of charge and that I really enjoy the commentary from Jonathan Green and Steve Martin.
Maybe it's because I'm a Haga fan and he's pretty much hero or zero so every race is on the edge of the seat stuff.
As for the single tyre in MotoGP, I'm all for it. People say that it stifles innovation, slows the racing down and so on, but is that such a big deal? I'd rather watch racing on 10 year old tyre technlogy that requires 50% slower corner speeds as long as that applies equally thoughout the field. I hate race weekends where my favourite rider is on top form, my favourite team has the bike dialed in perfectly, everyone that counts has done a superb job, but they're 2 seconds off the pace because the tyre manufacturer they signed up with 10 months ago happened to balls up the compunds for the conditions on the day, making it effectively a 2 class race.

So glad i did.

F1: All overtaking and racing seemingly penalised by stewards, limited overtaking opportunities, races determined by tedious pit lane tactics, massively overhyped, no apparent regard for the wishes of fans or the traditions of the 'sport', charisma-vacuum drivers gagged by sponsors and teams, boring featureless modern tracks chasing foreign money, run to pursue murky political agendas and further billionaire power games.
.....and to think i used to get up in the middle of the night to cheer for Jean Alesi and the 'underdog' Ferrari team!
I'm generally more of a car man than a bike-man but MotoGP gives me a decent 45mins-1hr of thrilling racing every few weeks and i'm grateful for it. Lets hope Dorna doesn't ruin MotoGP the way that the FIA has killed what's supposed to be the world's premier motorsport series.

the racing at Laguna Seca was absolutely awesome this year in the Moto GP. Immense doesn't even cover it, especially if you've come from F1 and start watching this! I usually try and catch both over the weekend though but used to pay more attention to F1 however currently I tend to prefer to watch the Moto GP but that may also be to do with
