Ferrari Points Blunder?

Massa is 5 points behind Hamilton and Kubica is 7 behind Massa. With 2 races to go only Hamilton, Massa or Kubica can win the WDC.

I was surprised that Ferrari didn't pull Kimi to finish behind Massa because that would have placed Massa 4 points (5 at the time) behind Lewis and more likely to win the WDC. With 2 races to go that last point may be critical to Massa winning or losing the WDC, especially as he has won more Grands Prix so far and in the event of a tie would win on 'count-back'.

Obviously this would have had an impact on Ferrari's constructors' championship, leaving them 4 points ahead of McLaren rather than the current 7.

It seems like Ferrari have prioritised team over Massa?

AFAIK, the teams consider the constructor's championship far more important than the WDC, which is what the public focus on.
Ready to be corrected on that though!

Ask Ron Dennis or any other team principle (and sponsers) if he wants to win the Constructors or the drivers title

Yes the teams like to win the constructors title, but in truth it gains little publicity for their partners.

Given the choice they would all chose the drivers title

Aren't there other perks to winning the constructors for the teams, such as the best pit garages and the largest slice of the pie when the TV revenue is split amongst the teams?

Also, I'm sure not even ferrari would be stupid enough to drop kimi that many places just for an extra point for massa, the public backlash would be terrible. Lets hope they learnt something from America.

no need for Kimi to give the extra point, there's always someone else to do that
