Croft race for next season?

Hi everyone and I hope that we all enjoyed the weekend! Further to our chat after the race I have enquired with the DDMC and it looks like they'd be amenable to having us as a race on one of their meetings at Croft next season. The dates are 16th/17th of May and 26th/27th September. We would need to make a solid commitment as they are looking to organise a race card and it's a question of first come first served. They would also be delighted for any of us to come along and take part in their Northern Saloons and Sportscars series if we are feeling at a loose end!
I realise that this will somewhat depend on our calendar for next season but wanted to gauge the level of interest before going any further. Comment invited and best regards to all! Tony

Croft is a fantastic circuit and I'll be well up for it if as long as I have a car in a suitable state of build... ( thats a subtle hint for everyone to start punting my tuscan around to everyone thats even slightly interested in racing so I can have a sag ready )

not been active racing much this year, but do intend to do a full season next year, and a croft is obviously a yes from me, and is a great circuit, as well as the tvr's i will be racing with the darlington district too,

I would welcome a meeting at Croft. I think we would need two races and a practice as discussed to make sure its worth while for all the southerners. If it is proposed as a Championship round we would need to dovetail into John Reid's programme.

I'd be more than happy to do Croft, would prefer double header but wouldnt be a barrier to entry.

Thanks for the feedback so far. It would be a double-header as they run qualifying and first race on the Saturday and the second race on the Sunday afternoon. Obviously it would be a non-championship round unless JR was happy to have it included in the series. Which weekend would folks prefer and then I can see if the funcup girls are available for 'C cup' Dave!

It seems well intentioned, but it does seem a little disingenuous to set about organising what is in effect a Tuscan Challenge race, outside of the Championship.

If you chaps want a race at Croft then ask John for one - and indeed present this as a potential way to do it

To go ahead and organise it regardless and to call it a 'non championship round' if it doesn't fit in with what the Championship Coordinator/BRSCC are planning would seriously undermine the Championship.

This was discussed at the drivers meeting at Oulton on Saturday. John Reid was quite happy that we go to Croft if it could be arranged. I have spoken to John today and he is in favour of fitting it in as a Championship round which leaves him less meetings to find on the BRSCC promotions. I will be talking to JR again tomorrow on another subject but he is aware of the Croft proposal and the dates.

My wish list for next year

Croft
Angelsey
Oulton
snetterton
Cadwell
Slverstone GP


probably all possible other than sillystone gp, so I'll settle for the international but please not the crappy national circuit..

Brands I can take or leave the indy but the GP would be something. admittedly again thats probably not possible and Brands indy is more likley than Cadwell to be on next years calendar.

Pembrey I actually quite like. it took some time before i did but i do now, but nobody else seems to like it.

Thruxton I've only been to once with a sick tasmin (v5)

Castle coombe is more dangerous than cadwell so not bothered, although the food and bar is good

lydden hill, well at least you can watch the rest of the race whilst your racing, and you can nip to france on the way back for some booze

Knockhill is cool, but a long way to go and will be wet at some point !!

mallory is handy for us as thats where we do most testing... but prices have gone up loads since barc took over.
