Now I am not sure "fetishist" is a word, but if we can look past that ...
If you had to choose one, who would youpunch kick out of F1, Max or Bernie? Now a knee jerk reaction for me would be Max, but after the last few seasons a friend of mine has clouded the situation by pointing out how much Bernie has affected things.
From previous threads we know Max and Bernie are both implicated in the Benetton "fix", so we can assume they both conspired over many things in F1. However they each have their own distinct blame to carry for recent events. Max for allowing the FIA to become a laughing stock and the rule making fiascos. Bernie for ignoring the F1 fan base and running after money and also arguably reducing the spectacle by introducing s
t-house Tilke designed tracks which promote sleep.
I'm not sure which I hate more, I want to hate Max more but maybe Bernie is more of a problem?
So which one of them do you think is the biggest problem?

Eccs is Frankenstein to Max Rufus' monster.
Eccs created him but now is apparently in fear of him. If you've never seen the film The Servant then you are in for a treat. It seems to encompass the relationship of master/servant to servant/master that we have viewed over the last few years.
Eccs seems to be on the back foot recently with regards to the relationship. Looking back you can see the early indicators around 1992-3 but it took the Indy FiAsco to make it obvious enough even for me.
I can't help wondering if the whole thing was a power struggle for the control of F1.
Max Rufus had sorted out the management of the FiA with a night of the long knives, probably learnt from his aunty Mitford's love interest, and then, feeling empowered, he decide to rid himself of the troublesome king-maker. It's taken a few years but I think there's little doubt who is in the driving seat at the moment.
In any battle to the death I'd normally put my money on Eccs but I'm not sure he gives a damn any longer.
I can't help wondering if Mosley is capable of continuing in his position without the assistance of someone like Eccs, and there's not many of his ilk around. Given the state he's got F1 and himself into of late, whoever is advising him needs some advice.
I reckon we should go for the head of Max Rufus. He's the threat to F1. Eccs is just in it for the money. Max gives the impression of being power mad. He'd be a favourite of his aunty Mitford.

Further what Derek said, Max's advantage over Bernie is that Bernie wants the money so he needs a show. Any show, no matter how tainted, is better than nothing.
Now that (with Bernie's help over the years) all the levers of FIA power are his fingertips, Max has shown willing to tear the whole thing down for the sake of his own ego. Bernie may have some tricks up his sleeve yet, but I agree he may not think it worth the bother.
